Appointment booking for child specialists
At a children’s clinic, the patient is the child but the booking, the reminder and the cancellation are all the parent’s. Showup lets parents book from a link when they have a moment, and sends everything to the parent’s WhatsApp.
What paediatric clinics deal with
Evenings are crowded
Working parents can only come after office and school hours, so the evening session overflows and the waiting room fills with unwell children.
Parents call when the clinic is busiest
The calls to book come exactly while the doctor is seeing patients, and nobody is free to answer them.
Follow-ups depend on the parent remembering
The next check-up or the next routine visit is given verbally at the end of a visit, and forgotten by the time the parent reaches the car.
How child specialists use Showup
- 01
Parents book at any hour
A parent books from the link at night, choosing a real time in the evening session, and the confirmation arrives on their WhatsApp.
- 02
Fewer children waiting
Booked times spread the evening out, so families arrive near their time instead of all at once.
- 03
A recall for the next visit
Set the next due date and a reason such as “next check-up”. When it comes, the parent gets a message with the booking link.

Child specialists: common questions
01Who receives the messages, the parent or the child?
Messages go to the WhatsApp number entered at booking, which is normally the parent’s. They greet the name entered for the patient.
02Can we remind parents about the next vaccination?
You can set a next due date with a reason such as “next vaccination”, and the parent gets a recall message on that date. Showup does not track vaccination schedules itself; it reminds parents to book.
03Can a parent book for two children from one number?
Showup keeps one patient record per phone number at each clinic, so siblings booked from the same number share a record. Reception can add a short note to each appointment saying which child it is for.
